Residue

Architecture responding to the residue of actions. The action of a space, past or present form space.  This community center responds to the site through the acknowledgement of the previous context of neighbouring buildings and community. The architecture forms around paths cut from adjacencies, street permeability, and crime in the area. The resultant is architecture that provides flexing permeable spaces of public and private through the movement of walls and partitions. The interior spaces overlap into the community when opened up, taking back previous crime areas. The green rooftop provides street accessible public space for festivals and a community run garden.  As the architecture becomes a part of the community there is phenomological residue of the its time in the community and physical remnants of the community actions on the architecture.
